Kevin W. Weigand is an associate in Venable's Commercial Litigation practice group. He has experience representing clients in commercial contract disputes, shareholder litigation, business torts, false advertising claims, and regulatory issues. Mr. Weigand has represented financial institutions, telecommunications carriers, law firms, government contractors, and other small and large businesses.
Mr. Weigand is experienced in all phases of commercial litigation. He has taken and defended depositions, arbitrated disputes to a favorable outcome, questioned and cross-examined witnesses, and advocated on behalf of his clients before state and federal judges in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Weigand clerked for the Honorable Richard B. Potter of the Circuit Court for the 31st Judicial District of Virginia.
Mr. Weigand has an active pro bono practice. He has assisted victims of consumer protection law violations, has helped low-income families navigate government benefits regulations, has drafted last will and testaments for senior citizens, and has represented a client successfully in obtaining Social Security disability benefits after denial by the Administration.
Mr. Weigand currently chairs the Corporate & Commercial Litigation Section for the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys.
