Peter Bellas focuses his practice primarily on commercial litigation and business disputes. Peter has represented clients in various complex commercial litigation matters, including issues involving officer and director liability litigation, auditor malpractice, bank liability litigation, fraudulent transfer litigation, breach of contract, torts, construction litigation, franchise disputes, and constitutional rights, in both state and federal courts and arbitrations. Peter also represents clients in eminent domain actions, and he has served as eminent domain counsel for the largest franchisee of Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, Inc. Peter is also an American Arbitration Association arbitrator and a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediator.
Peter has served on the Federal Court Practice Committee of The Florida Bar. He has also served on the board of directors of the Dade County Bar Association, The Florida Bar's Eminent Domain Committee, The Florida Bar's Judicial Evaluation Committee, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Steering Committee of the Young Vizcayans, and the Committee of 100; with Big Brothers/Big Sisters; and as an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University. In addition to commercial litigation, Peter litigated several subrogation matters in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew.
