Venable senior legislative advisor Chan Lieu was quoted in a March 16, 2017, Wired article on vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication technology. The technology allows vehicles to communicate with each other and alert nearby vehicles of accidents or problems on the road. Several automakers and the federal government believe the technology could be vital to reducing the number of deaths caused by auto accident every year.
"V2V is complementary but not necessary to self-driving cars," said Lieu. "We don't want to wait for full V2V deployment before we can have self-driving cars."
