Rebecca M. (Becca) Chappell

Becca Chappell is counsel in Venable's Tax and Wealth Planning Group in San Francisco. She advises clients on U.S. inbound and outbound transactional tax, cross-border tax planning, and tax risk assessment, with a focus on complex acquisitions, business combinations, IPOs, refinancings, and divestments. Becca has significant experience with high-profile, multi-jurisdictional transactions that involve the development and implementation of tax-efficient and commercially effective tax planning strategies.

Becca's clients include private equity firms, public and closely held multinational corporations, mid-market corporations, and start-up companies across a number of industries, including technology, pharmaceutical, media, financial services, and retail.

Prior to joining Venable, Becca was a Mergers & Acquisitions Tax Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she recently spent two years in the London Deals Tax group. She is well versed in tax structuring and tax due diligence in both the U.S. and European markets, and has a comprehensive understanding of European financing considerations and evolving global tax initiatives.

Becca earned her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she served as Student Comment Editor for the San Diego International Law Journal. She holds a B.A. from Duke University in both Economics and Psychology.
