The Baltimore Sun highlighted a victory Venable obtained in a pro bono case brought on behalf of six Baltimore neighborhood associations against absentee owners of nearly 50 vacant properties within their neighborhoods. The Circuit Court for Baltimore City determined as a matter of law that the properties were a nuisance under a new Community Bill of Rights statute and ordered the owners to fix the conditions within 90 days. Trial is set for September 30 on the community association's other claims, including damages.
