On May 22, 2020, Law360 covered Canon Inc. v. LD Products, in which the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California entered a Consent Judgment and Permanent Injunction in favor of Canon, pursuant to a stipulation by the parties.
LD Products is one of the largest online retailers of aftermarket printer supplies in the U.S., and sells on both its own and the Amazon platforms. Canon sued LD in March 2019 for infringing one of its core patents on laser toner cartridge technology, and added six additional patents after they issued about a month later. The injunction bars LD from making, using, and selling the cartridges that Canon accused of infringement.
The Venable team included Michael Sandonato, Ed Haughey, Dennis McMahon, Sarah Brooks, Seth Boeshore, and Nicholas Marcello.
