Mary Gardner is an associate in the firm's national Advertising and Marketing Practice. Her practice focuses on false advertising litigation and complex class actions. Mary has represented clients in private and government litigation, class actions, and federal and state government investigations. Mary also assists companies in advertising and marketing their products by reviewing advertising and marketing materials, advising on product warranties, and providing counsel regarding advertising substantiation.

Mary also advises clients regarding complex insurance coverage issues relating to tort liabilities, environmental liabilities, employment suits, government investigations, data breach liabilities, product liabilities, personal and advertising injury, and director and officer liabilities.

Prior to joining Venable, Mary worked at a prominent law firm, where she represented clients before the FTC and state attorneys general, advised clients on matters related to state food and drug regulations, and represented large companies pursuing insurance coverage.

Mary graduated magna cum laude from American University, Washington College of Law, where she was the executive editor of the American University Law Review. While in law school, she was an intern for the Honorable Marian Blank Horn in the United States Court of Federal Claims.
