Rebecca Liebowitz

Rebecca Liebowitz's practice focuses on domestic and international trademark prosecution, including searching, registering and enforcing trademarks.  She works with both traditional trademarks (including trademarks, service marks, logos, and slogans) as well as non-traditional trademarks (including trade dress and sound marks) for clients in a wide range of industries, including telecommunications providers, banking and financial services, restaurants, non-profit organizations, green technology, cosmetics and educational services.

Providing comprehensive brand management services, Ms. Liebowitz regularly assists clients with opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as registering and policing domain names, Custom's recordation, and copyright matters.

Ms. Liebowitz counsels clients in corporate transactions, including due diligence audits of intellectual property and counseling on the intricacies of intellectual property transfers.  Ms. Liebowitz also counsels clients on license agreements involving various types of intellectual property.

As the group's Trademark Administrator for more than eight years before becoming an attorney, Ms. Liebowitz has cultivated relationships with an extensive network of contacts and associates worldwide, helping to protect and enforce clients' trademark rights.  She manages large international portfolios and regularly counsels clients on best filing strategies under both the Madrid Protocol filing system and national filing systems.  Ms. Liebowitz also advises on trademark licensing and recordation requirements throughout the world.
