Washington, DC (January 2, 2018) – Venable LLP announced today that 18 attorneys have been elected to the firm partnership: Eric J. Bakewell, Paul S. Bernstein, Andrew E. Bigart, David L. The new partners, from Venable's Washington, DC, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Towson, and Tysons offices, represent emerging leaders from a broad cross section of the firm's practice groups, including Commercial Litigation; Corporate; eCommerce, Privacy, and Cybersecurity; Environment; Intellectual Property; Legislative; Real Estate; Regulatory; and Tax and Wealth Planning.

  • Eric Bakewell (Los Angeles, CA office) is a litigator who has successfully represented companies, nonprofit associations and foundations, and individuals in a wide variety of complex cases involving partnership disputes, trust and estate matters, intellectual property actions, and general commercial litigation, with a particular focus in the entertainment industry.
  • Paul Bernstein (Los Angeles, CA office) represents companies and individuals in the entertainment and media industries in a broad range of matters, including advising producers in joint ventures for the financing, creation, and distribution of motion picture, television, and digital content; influencers in connection with their own brands and advisory roles with third-party brands; and executives in mobility and compensation matters.
  • Andrew Bigart (Washington, DC office) focuses his practice on antitrust and consumer protection law, payments and financial services, and business counseling.
  • David Feinberg (Washington, DC office) is a litigator with experience in a broad range of cases, including business disputes, real estate disputes, insurance coverage matters, environmental claims, and government investigations and enforcement actions.
  • Allison Foley (Washington, DC office) concentrates her practice on a range of environmental and administrative issues critical to the utility, manufacturing, and real estate industries, with a focus on chemical management, risk assessment, site remediation, and solid and hazardous waste management and disposal.
  • Meaghan Kent (Washington, DC office) is an intellectual property attorney, counseling clients and litigating matters related to copyright, trademark, patent, false advertising, trade secret, right of publicity, and domain names.
  • Heili Kim (Washington, DC office) advises food, dietary supplement, cosmetic, and other companies in areas of regulatory compliance and advertising tied to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission.
  • Rebecca Liebowitz (Washington, DC office) focuses her practice on all facets of brand protection, including domestic and international trademark clearance, prosecution, licensing and enforcement, and domain name and social media strategies.

  • David Mullon Jr. (Washington, DC office) focuses his practice on a broad array of issues affecting various Native American tribes throughout the country, with a particular emphasis on energy, water, land use, natural resources, environment, healthcare law, and legislative affairs.
  • Tara Sugiyama Potashnik (Washington, DC office) advises clients on legislation, rulemaking proceedings, compliance matters, crisis management, and the development of self-regulatory programs, with a focus on eCommerce, privacy, and cybersecurity.
  • Neal Strum (Baltimore, MD office) focuses his practice on business advice, planning, and transactions for companies of all sizes in a wide range of industries.
