Doug McDonald focuses on real estate and technology company loan originations, workouts, and dispositions of defaulted loans; real estate transactions, including site acquisition and development, and retail and office leasing; and business counseling. Doug has represented hospitality, financial services, and government contractor clients in virtually every aspect of complex real estate and other business transactions.

Doug regularly represents parties in financings secured by multifamily properties or non-real estate assets, including government contractor receivables.

  • Represents a national financial company in its loss mitigation and real estate owned (REO) disposition programs
  • Represents large institutional real estate investors in Virginia acquisition and financing transactions, providing advice on transaction structure, including recordation tax analysis and planning, and preparing and negotiating third-party legal opinions
  • Represents a private financial institution providing financing to government contractors and technology companies in all aspects of its lending program, including preparing and maintaining loan documents and counseling for loan structures, credit risk assessments, state licensing and regulatory compliance, and loss mitigation and loan document enforcement
  • Represents commercial banks including PNC and First National Bank of Pennsylvania, in bilateral and syndicated credit facilities to government contractors and technology companies
