69 attorneys and record setting 32 practice group rankings at national and state levels; Product Liability and Mass Torts practice wins coveted Client Service Award

Washington, DC – May 27, 2016 – Today, Chambers USA released its annual list of law firm and attorney rankings in the United States. This year, 69 Venable attorneys and a record setting 32 practice groups were ranked at the state and national level. This is Chambers USA's thirteenth annual survey covering America's leading attorneys identified as the best in their fields by their peers and clients.

Chambers USA recognized Venable's national Product Liability and Mass Torts practice with its coveted Client Service Award. According to Chambers, "Client Service awards go to firms who have been consistently singled out by clients during the course of our research for the quality and range of their client service." Only a select few firms are recognized each year with this award.

For the third consecutive year, partner James J. Hanks, Jr. was named a Star Individual for Nationwide REITs: Maryland Counsel, Chambers' highest ranking indicating exceptional recommendations. Mr. Hanks is the only attorney in the country to receive such a ranking in this category.

Among other highlights in this year’s rankings were the additions Craig A. Thompson and Michael D. Schiffer who were both ranked for the first time. Eight attorneys – Allison D. Foley, Ronald R. Glancz, Thora A. Johnson, Stephen E. Marshall, Amy Ralph Mudge, Christopher W. Pate, Richard E. Powers, Jr., and Paul F. Strain – saw their individual rankings increase. Additionally the firm was also recognized for the first time in three new practice areas – Nationwide Political Law, Nationwide Retail, and Maryland Bankruptcy/Restructuring.
