70 individual attorneys ranked in 77 categories, 29 practice group rankings

Washington, DC (February 10, 2014) – Chambers USA has released the preliminary rankings of attorneys and practices for its 2014 edition. Continuing its impressive trend of high rankings, Venable LLP announced that 70 of its attorneys achieved rankings in 77 categories. The firm also had 29 practice group rankings at the national and state levels. This is Chambers USA’s twelfth annual survey covering America’s leading lawyers identified as the best in their fields by their peers and clients. The complete list of rankings including bands and editorial commentary will be released in May.

Three Venable attorneys: Amy Ralph Mudge (DC), Michele M. Mulrooney (LA) and Christopher W. Pate (Baltimore), made their first appearance in the rankings with Ms. Mudge and Mr. Pate achieving national rankings. An impressive 29 individual lawyers and 10 practice groups, over a third of Venable’s overall rankings, were ranked at the national level this year.

“The continued recognition by Chambers is a testament to the talented and hardworking attorneys across the firm, the quality of their work and their commitment to serving our clients,” said Venable Vice Chairman Brian L. Schwalb. “We appreciate the recognition of our peer firms and the support of our clients who participate in the Chambers researcher process. Tireless commitment to meeting our clients’ needs is the driving force behind what everyone here at Venable does every day; at the end of the day, it’s our clients’ opinions that matter most.”
